A fiber optic cable is a cable that uses light to transmit data. It consists of a core made of a transparent material, such as glass or plastic, surrounded by a cladding made of a material with a lower refractive index. The core and cladding are surrounded by a protective jacket. 

• Higher bandwidth: Fibre optic cables can carry more data than copper cables.
• Longer distance: Fiber optic cables can transmit data over longer distances than copper cables.
• Less interference: Fiber optic cables are less susceptible to interference from electromagnetic fields than copper cables.
• Security: Fibre optic cables are more secure than copper cables because they are difficult to tap into.
